Pure Keto Browned Butter Bites: A Simple and Decadent Treat

As someone who follows a high-fat keto with leanings towards a carnivore diet, I'm always on the lookout for delicious and satisfying ways to increase my fat intake. These Keto Browned Butter Bites are a perfect solution! They offer a rich, caramelized flavor without any sugars or sweeteners, making them a guilt-free treat. Here's how I make these delightful bites using just ½ pound of butter.

Ingredients:

½ pound butter - I find grass-fed butter gives a richer taste, but any 100% real butter will work.

Instructions: Step 1: Brown the Butter

With the stove set to medium, place your butter into a skillet and melt it.
Once melted, reduce the heat to medium-low. The butter will start to foam. Stir and scrape the sides to prevent burning.
Watch closely as the butter begins to brown; this can happen quickly. Remove from heat when it reaches a golden brown for a milder flavor, or a darker brown for a more intense taste.

Step 2: Prepare the Mixture

Let the browned butter cool for about 5 minutes in the skillet. This helps to prevent separation. Pour the butter into a glass measuring cup, making sure to scrape all the flavorful browned bits from the pan into the cup.

Step 3: Mold the Bites

For consistent portions, use a teaspoon or tablespoon to measure the butter into a silicone mold. Stir the butter occasionally, as the brown bits tend to settle at the bottom.
A baking dish with parchment paper will work also. Pour the butter in, spreading it evenly.

Step 4: Chill and Set

Place the mold or dish in the freezer for about an hour, or until the butter is solid. Once set, pop the bites out of the mold or break the sheet into pieces. Store in a silicone bag or airtight container in the freezer or refrigerator.

Notes and Tips:

Salted vs. Unsalted Butter: This is a personal choice. You can even mix half salted and half unsalted. Flavor Intensity: The longer you brown the butter, the more intense the flavor. Experiment to find your preferred taste.
